Reminders late or not arriving
Android phones save battery by delaying or blocking apps in the background. In FamilyDose, open Settings, then Notification Permissions, and check each of these:
- Notifications are allowed so reminders can appear.
- Precise alarms are allowed so reminders fire at the exact time.
- Battery use is unrestricted so the phone doesn't put FamilyDose to sleep.
- Display over other apps is allowed so the dose confirmation screen appears on top.
- Auto-start is on, if your phone has this setting. Phones from brands such as Xiaomi, Redmi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus often need it.
Also set a loud, alarm-style sound in Settings under Set Notification Sound, so medicine reminders stand out.
Back up and move to a new phone
- Open the Manage tab and tap Export Data.
- Find the backup file in the Files app, under Internal storage, in Documents or Download.
- Copy the file to your new phone, for example through Google Drive, email to yourself or a cable.
- Install FamilyDose on the new phone, open Manage, tap Import Data and choose the file.
Before you uninstall: uninstalling erases all FamilyDose data permanently. Export a backup first.
Delete your data
FamilyDose has no account and no servers, so your data exists only on your phone. To delete it:
- Open Settings and tap Clear All Data.
- Confirm. All medicines, dose history, organiser items and settings are erased.
Uninstalling the app also deletes everything. If you exported backup files, delete those files from your phone or cloud storage too. Read the privacy policy for details.
