A medicine reminder for elderly parents

FamilyDose keeps track of your parents' medicines in one app: every tablet, every dose time, and a follow-up when a dose isn't confirmed. It works in English, Malayalam and Hindi, so parents can read their own reminders.

Why doses get missed

It is rarely forgetfulness alone. Parents often take several medicines at different times of day, doses change after a doctor's visit, strips look alike, and a tablet quietly runs out before anyone notices. A reminder that only rings once doesn't solve any of that.

How FamilyDose helps

  • One app for the whole family: add Amma, Achan or anyone else, and filter everything by person.
  • A reminder before every dose, five minutes early, and a follow-up if it isn't marked as taken.
  • A missed check-in shows any dose that was never confirmed, so nothing slips by silently.
  • Weekly adherence for each person, useful to show the doctor at the next visit.
  • Low-stock and refill alerts, so tablets don't run out over a weekend.
  • Expiry alerts for the medicines kept at home.
  • Three languages: switch between English, Malayalam and Hindi in Settings.

Two ways families set it up

On the parent's phone. Install FamilyDose on their phone, set it to their language, and add their medicines. The reminders ring for them, in words they read comfortably.

On your phone, as the caregiver. Add their medicines to your own FamilyDose. The reminders ring on your phone, so you can call and check.

FamilyDose keeps data on one phone and doesn't sync between phones, so pick the setup that matches who should hear the reminder.

Questions

Can I get reminders on my phone for my mother's medicines?

Yes. Add her medicines to FamilyDose on your own phone and the reminders ring for you. FamilyDose doesn't sync between phones, so reminders only ring on the phone where the medicines were added.

Can my father use FamilyDose in Malayalam?

Yes. Open Settings, choose Language, and pick Malayalam. Reminders and every screen switch to Malayalam.

What if the reminders arrive late?

Some phones delay apps to save battery. The reminder checklist shows the settings to change.

Is FamilyDose free?

Yes. It is free on Google Play, with no ads and no account.
